McD time

I went to McD today with my brother. I dunno, i just suddenly feel that urge to eat some fast food today. I didnt take my lunch kononla as part of my diet program. Mengarut btol. Hahaha. Well, who doesnt love fast food? Most of my friends they prefer to choose KFC. I on the other hand pick McD as the better franchise for i love burgers. Well, i also love Burger King but we dont have it here in Sarawak.

Sibu McD during the flood LOLZ

Recently McD relaunching back their GCB into the menu and I cant explain to you how much i love the taste of that burger since the first time i had it last year. The GCB was selling like hot cakes last year. Most of the time, i found that it was sold out. Hahaha. Well, that should explain something right? That is why i love McD. The way they market they product. Instead of putting the menu into the main list, they only sell it for a limited time only. And they do it anually. It makes me anticipate to wait for it each year. Now McD is doing that to GCB just like they do to their flagship Prosperity Burger (also my fav).

McD's Properity Burger

McD's Grilled Chicken Burger (GCB)

McD in Sibu was relocated just in front of Sanyan. Well, i still miss the old days where i went to McD then straight to the cinema upstairs. Hahaha. But at least Sibu's McD is looking more modern and chic than the previous one that looks like an old diner. You know, the steel chair that is white/yellow or white/red in colour style one. Hahaha.
I ordered GCB and my brother ordered Mega Mac. The fries came with the Smoky BBQ shaker thingy. I never eat my fries with it for it contains alot of MSG. Kinda reminds me of this 20 cents keropok back in the primary school days. What's the name huh? Diction is it. The packet was green in colour then you have to pour the powder thingy into your keropok then shake the keropok. Kinda funny but it was very innovative back in the days.

Sedap!

My bro with his Mega Mac

I only can say that GCB tasted so divine.... the grilled chicken meat was so tender and juicy. The sauce added a bit of smoky taste to it. Owh....I'm salivating right now thinking of it alone. Hahaha.
I also bought the new Banana Toffee Sundae....

Banana Toffee Sundae

Well, i didnt like it. Tastes like a caramel mixed with this artificial banana flavour our mum always used to bake cakes. Better i buy the classic chocolate or the strawberry one. Hahaha.

Semester 4: Part 2 (Psychiatric Miri)

After Bako, my group went to Miri for our next clinical attachment. This time we will be going to the psychiatric unit. My group is still the same; Aaron, Calhiem, Zaid and myself. This time around, Azmee joined us after he was separated from since he was having his attachment at KK Buntal last time. I was kinda busy that month for i had to organize the Battle Of The Bands in our college. Yeah, i do have to fulfill my duty as the Student Council's President. So you can imagine how busy i was dividing my time and commitment. :-)

I was one of the judges (muahahaha)

The crowds: KSKBians and KKAKians

Me and the BOTB crews - love 'em all

We went to Miri on Sunday morning (morning after the Battle of the Bands finished) and arrived there at night time. It took us around 13 hours bus ride from Kuching to Miri. It was exhausting but it was well worth it. I lived in Miri when i was a kid and i was very excited to come back there. We arrived at night time and boy, the hostel was sooooo fabulous. Azmee and I shared a room. We even have our own kitchen for us to cook. Hahaha.

Cooking with Salman

The next day, we had our orientation at the Psychiatric unit. There we met our Local Prosecutor, AMO Jubaidi. At first, i didnt like psychiatric unit. Frankly speaking, i was kinda scared with people with mental-illness. Well, that was before.... hahaha.

Our first day at Psy Unit

We had so much fun in Miri. Lucky for us it was February so we had Chinese New Year holidays as well. One of my highschool friend, Danny came for holidays in Miri and he brought us exploring the place during the holidays. It was awesome. I even sprained my ankle when we were playing Dance Revolution game at the arcade. Hahaha.

The pic was taken a few minutes before i sprained my ankle

We went to lotsa places around the city. We went to the Miri Crocodile Farm and believe it or not, i took pictures with a python for the first time in my life. It was really terrifying but fun at the same time. I cant explain how hard i screamed when i was holding the reptile. Hahahaha.

I nearly shit in my pants! LOLZ

Miri Psychiatric unit was fun. We had this morning exercise slot every morning so basically i was the one who leads all the patients and staffs doing the exercises and their personal favorite; The Chicken Dance. Yeah, we were having tonnes of fun. Not to mention, we were having fun playing with all the patients. That really changed my idea on mentally-ill patient. They are not that aggressive. Hahaha.

Chicken dance

Speaking of aggressive, i once accidentally locked myself inside the ward where an aggressive patient was held when i was giving him lunch. Knowing i was being locked inside, i screamed for my dear life as i was scared to death. Luckily nothing bad happened. Hahaha.
There was this funny incident where i was finishing my case study. I really didnt know what was going on with my head that time and i accidentally deleted my case study without saving it! Imagine i have to redo it again and i slept around 4am because of that. Damn. Hahaha.

Myself with Aaron & Salman

We even celebrated Aaron's birthday. We had soooo much fun!

Aaron's birthday party with pizza as the birthday cake.

Hmmm....it was sad to leave Miri. My group and the other group decided to threw a party for all the staffs and the patients. We collected money and bought foods and cooked everything on our own. It felt awesome to give back as the way to say thanks.

Miri was fun...and i knew for sure, i will be coming back next semester. Hahaha. After Miri, we had our one week mid-term holidays. Azmee and Aaron decided to go back with me to Sibu. Well, that was another story. :-)

Semester 4: Part 1 (KK Bako)

I dunno why i always have this tendency to reminiscing about the past and then reflect myself on what has been happening in my life. When we are looking back in the past, we know what we might have done wrong and what we might have done right in order to improve ourselves in the present. Chewah, ala-ala pakar motivasi la pula.
Now let us look back at last year... I was entering semester 4 that time. Finally, as an AMO student, we no longer have theory classes anymore so basically we will be going out for our clinical attachments for the next 3 final semesters. There i was with my so called A-Team group which i personally handpicked (read my previous Reflection post) and all of them are my personal close friends. Yah, i know i know....a bit cronyism going on there. My group: Me, Aaron, Calhiem and Zaid. This semester we will be going to 4 attachment areas and we have to do our clinical thingy there for 4 weeks in each area.
First month... Klinik Kesihatan Bako, Kuching. Bako is a suburban malay kampong situated approximately an hour drive from Kuching city. And it took us about two hour drive from our college to the clinic. Imagine that we have to wake up early and departed from the college around 5.45am every weekdays. We arrived at the clinic somewhere around 7.30am. And we returned to college around 4.00pm and arrived around 6.30pm. That was a hectic schedule i might say. Oh by the way, KK Bako also near the famous Bako National Park, the oldest national park in Malaysia and my favorite place.

Bako National Park signboard
The first day was kinda blur actually. I remembered  that we had this new driver who didnt know the road to KK Bako and luckily i have been there a few times so i have to be the navigator. We arrived there safe and sound but a bit late because we have to send a few of our colleagues to KK Santubong & KK Buntal (which is quite far). Unfortunately for us, there was only one AMO in the clinic, AMO Bujal and he was outstation doing works for the PLKN thingy for 2 weeks! Well, the HQ sent a relieving AMO from KK Telaga Air to replace him.
From my first impression, i'm not fond of the relieving AMO. Well, he was my superior so i have to respect him no matter what. There are 4 of us so i decided to divide ourselves into 2 sub-groups. Each team will rotate on daily basis working whether at the out-patient department (OPD) or the mother & child clinic (MCH).

Me!... camwhoring at the OPD
I always looking forward to work in the MCH because i love playing with babies. Although sometimes it was kinda hard when you have to give immunization injections to babies. Nobody wants to see or hear babies crying right? Hehehe. In the MCH we have this mini pantry where we can hang out and eat everything served on the table. It was fun. The PPK also such a sweetheart. Sometimes she cooks for us and prepared drinks for us. All of the staffs there were awesome. I am very close to one of the nurse there. She was like a mother figure to me and every lunch hour, she took us to the nearby shops to buy our lunch. Ohhh she was so sweet.
I remembered this incident... It was Monday. I forgot the date. The relieving AMO didnt come to work for unknown reasons. That day Aaron and I was the one who were on duty at the OPD. There were alot of patients that day. Usually, we only had like 40 patients per day but that day we had like 70 patients in the OPD. The OPD only has 1 screening table and both of us decided to screen 2 persons at one time to avoid the restless crowd due to our slowness of clerking and treating the patients. Hey, we were just semester 4 at that time and our knowledge is like so limited. The worst part was we dont have any AMO supervising and helping us. It's just the 2 of us! Zaid and Calhiem also kinda busy in the MCH as well. But Aaron and I prevailed and we did the best we could.

Dynamic Duo: Aaron & I
During the lunch hour, a mother came to the clinic bringing his 4 year old daughter who was having an asthma attack. As usual we gave the kid the usual treatment which was giving the kid nebulized Salbutamol. However, the treatment was uneffective so I decided to call the KK Bako's own AMO Bujal for advices. He asked us to give the kid another neb but still the kid was still having problem with her breathing. In fact, we can hear the wheezing sound loud and clear. The nurses there also didnt know what to do as they were not trained to handle this kind of emergency situation.

Nebulizer for paediatrics
As a leader of my group so i decided to take an immediate action. Students aren't allowed to refer a patient from clinic to the hospital. But i took extreme measure, i just referred the kid to the hospital with the permission from AMO Bujal via the phone line. After finishing with all the paperworks and forms, our driver reported that our ambulance couldnt be started. Oh no, not another bad news after another. Damn, i was kinda frustrated at that time. I decided to call the hospital and asked for an ambulance. The ambulance arrived 30 minutes later and the kid was in a serious condition. Her face was bluish but she was in a good hand now.
Now, that was an experience. It really gave me the idea on how hard it is to become a paramedic and how to lead people. I guess i stepped up well and my team-mates were very cooperative and supportive with my actions. The Chief AMO who came along with the ambulance also praised us for the immediate action. I was kinda happy to save a life that day. However I was kinda frustrated with the relieving AMO who didnt come to work that day. Imagine what would i do if the kid collapsed in the clinic? Thank God there was Mr Bujal helping us although via the phone line. I couldnt wait for him to return to work next week.
After two shitty weeks with the unnamed relieving AMO, Mr Bujal finally returned back to the clinic. I was kinda happy to see him for i had this sense of respect and bond with him since that emergency incident. He was such a nice guy and he taught me alot. He even asked me to do the indent and brought me and Aaron to the State Medical Store. It was a memorable experience.
Days gone by so fast and it was a blast having Mr Bujal around supervising us. I was getting along fine with all the staffs. I even took advantage of the clinic's washing machine and dryer and did my laundries there. It was raining season back then. Hahahaha. I've learnt alot there. My first official attachment was a success. I didnt took much photos during that time for i dont have a decent camera to use. Hehehe. My group was okay except sometimes i felt this awkwardness having to face this "particular" person which his name cant be mentioned.

I missed KK Bako... I wish i could done more there. But it was a blast....really.

Bieber Fever

I'm not a big fan of Justin Bieber. Well, you can ask me whether i'm a fan or not if he's all grown up becoming a hunky guy. I have no idea how old he is but i think he's doing pretty well in the industries. Vocally, i dont think he's quite there yet but this boy is creating a phenomenon.
Recently, a friend of mine posted this funny video of a little boy (i dunno if i should call him a boy or a man for he has mustaches) doing a cover of Justin's Baby. I'm not going to judge his vocal because apparently if you see the boy for the first time, you already know that his voice is somewhat like a drunk teenage boy singing in a shower. And yeah, the boy sang like there was somebody behind him holding a knife and force him. Hahaha.
One of the freakiest thing that i found out that the boy loves to sing with his eyes closed and sometimes he rolled his eyes to back and somehow it looks creepy. Hahahaha.
The best part is during the instrumental part when you see the boy doing he's own "sound effect"....it gave me goosebumps for how horrendous it sound like to me. Here it goes.... Kirim salam ngan misai kitak. Kachak kitak yaaaa......

Will be back with another bitchy post next time. Adieu.

BACK FROM HIATUS

I was so busy for the past 18 months. No wonder this little spice shack is full of spider's webs. Hahaha. But now I'm back....and Spice Shack is officially back from hiatus. I will be posting something new very very soon. Tunggula.... (mcm la ada orang yg baca blog ni) :-)
